The Middle Fork of the New River at Mystery Hill in Blowing Rock, NC

 

The N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission will close approximately 1,000 miles of hatchery-supported trout waters to fishing half an hour after sunset on Feb. 28. The waters will reopen at 7 a.m. on April 6.

While fishing is closed, commission personnel will stock all waters in preparation for opening day. The hatchery-supported waters, marked by green and white signs, are stocked yearly at frequent intervals in the spring and early summer.
