An Appalachian Christmas Features Storytelling Santa at the Old Dougherty House

December 3-24
10-2 pm Thursdays, Fridays & Saturdays

Celebrate Christmas the old fashioned way with Santa and Mrs Claus during An Appalachian Christmas at the 1903 Old Dougherty House at Mystery Hill. Free of Charge. Santa will regale visitors with stories about one of his favorite children in the Blue Ridge Mountains, Jack. You may have heard of Jack; he’s nimble, his quick, he’s jumped over candle sticks and climbed bean stalks, but we guarantee you’ve never heard his exploits in Appalachia! Jack has always lent a hand to Santa fighting off trolls, saving Christmas princesses, stopping the northwest wind from blowing, and of course stopping joy-stealing witches! We know you will love this unique Appalachian holiday tradition. Guests will also enjoy complimentary cider and hot cocoa.
